Financial Trends Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 65 091 191 472) ("we", "us", "our") operates the Financial Trends Australia investment research platform at financialtrendsaustralia.com.au. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By accessing our website or becoming a member, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to members by email. The current version will always be available on this page.

The types of personal information we collect depend on how you interact with us.

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, racial, ethnic, political, religious, sexual orientation, or criminal record information). Our platform is designed for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.

We collect personal information directly from you when you submit an enquiry form on our website, purchase a membership online or over the phone, create a member account, or contact us by email, phone or other means.
We do not collect personal information from third-party data brokers or list providers. We do not purchase marketing lists.

Our website uses only essential cookies required for WordPress to function (session management and login authentication). We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracking tools. We do not serve targeted advertising. We do not build behavioural profiles of visitors.

- To provide and manage your Financial Trends Australia membership and access to our research platform
- To process payments and issue tax invoices
- To send transactional emails (welcome messages, receipts, invoices, password resets, membership expiry notices)

- To respond to enquiries and provide customer support
- To manage our sales pipeline and follow up on enquiries
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including Australian tax law
- To improve and maintain the security and performance of our platform

6. Who we share your information with

7. Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers listed above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where possible, we use providers with published privacy and data protection commitments that meet or exceed Australian standards.
8. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Our measures include encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) across our entire platform, secure password hashing (we never store plaintext passwords), access controls limiting staff access to personal information on a need-to-know basis, and hosting infrastructure with server-level security, firewalls and regular patching.
Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe's PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure. We do not receive, process or store card numbers on our servers.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. How long we keep your information
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. As a general guide:
- Active member records are retained for the duration of your membership and for a reasonable period afterwards
- Transaction records and tax invoices are retained for a minimum of five years, as required by Australian taxation law
- Marketing and enquiry records are retained until you request their deletion or unsubscribe, after which we will de-identify or destroy them within a reasonable timeframe
When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
10. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you (APP 12)
- Request correction of any personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading (APP 13)
- Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain certain records
- Make a complaint if you believe we have breached your privacy
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 12 below. We will respond to access and correction requests within 30 days.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with us using the contact details below. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and investigate it. We aim to resolve all complaints within 30 days.
